I hear it all the time.
"I eat my salads with just a sprinkle of lemon juice, because salad dressing is so bad for us".
"I ask for my dressing on the side because it's too many calories".
Food is supposed to be for nourishment, but what we often forget is that food is supposed to taste good and be enjoyed too!
What if I told you that salad dressing CAN be healthy?
What if your salad dressing tasted so good that you would want to put it all over your veggies and mix it all in?
What if your salad dressing could help manage your blood sugar, slow down aging, and help to balance hormones?
When we use lots of good oils, natural sugars, and real salts, we definitely can have dressings that you can say "yes please" to!
Top 2 Food Reasons Why Our Hormones Are So Out of Balance:
1. NOT ENOUGH FATS:
Unfortunately, for many years, we were told that fats were bad, and fats are what make us fat. So instead, all of our foods were filled with sugar instead of fat, and any fat that was used was artificial and processed. But when we look at how fat is used in the body, one of its major roles is to feed the glands that produce hormones(our Thyroid and our Adrenal glands). If those glands aren't properly fed with fats, they are not able to function optimally, and hormones are not produced efficiently for weight management, hair growth, blood sugar balance, and many other things.
2. ENOUGH FATS, BUT NOT ENOUGH OF THE RIGHT ONES:
We need more fats in our diets, but not all fats are created equal. Some fats and oils are refined and processed to the point where they are rancid(ie. have gone bad). When we consume too many of these refined oils that are rancid, they start to damage all the cells in our body. Cells are supposed to be round and able to take take in nutrients from the foods that we eat. But when they start to get damaged from these oils, they are no longer able to take in proper nutrition. So we may be eating all the good stuff; all the veggies, all our vitamins, all the minerals. But if the cells can't take them, we end up with all the problems: hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance(diabetes), skin issues, hair falling out, and so on. Rancid oils include canola oil, mazzola oil, or any other vegetable oil.
