Obviously, most people aren’t thinking “healthy” when they think of Starbucks, but one thing I know for sure is that their customer service is exceptional(in my personal experience). How that customer service helps you, is all in what you ask for. If they can make it specific to your needs, they will(this is not an ad for Starbucks either by the way)!
Here’s what I ask for, when I’m looking for a cold, refreshing drink, on a hot summer day. And this recipe is naturally caffeine-free, sugar-free, and diabetic friendly:
“ 1 TALL/GRANDE/VENTI ICED PASSION TEA – NO LEMONADE, AND NO “CLASSIC SYRUP” – ADD ONE PUMP OF REGULAR VANILLA(NOT THE SUGAR-FREE VANILLA) – LIGHT ICE(SO YOU GET MORE OF THE DRINK)"
I know that sounds like a mouthful, but they will know what you mean, plus, you'll get a healthier drink!
WHAT IS PASSION TEA?
This is a particular blend of herbs produced by the Tazo brand of teas. It is naturally caffeine free, and typically consists of herbs such as hibiscus flower, rosehip, cinnamon, lemongrass, and infused with orange peel.
ARE THERE OTHER TEA OPTIONS YOU RECOMMEND?
You can ask for the above order, but with any tea you choose. The benefit of asking for passion tea is that it is typically already brewed and iced at most Starbucks locations. If you choose a tea that they don’t already have iced(eg. Peppermint tea), you might have to wait a few extra minutes while they steep it and pour it over ice for you.
ENVIRONMENTAL TIP(AND MONEY SAVING TIP):
Consider bringing your own cup for a discount, and your own re-usable straw to help reduce waste. If you are sitting in the cafe or on the patio to enjoy your iced-tea, you can ask for a "here" cup, AND BONUS TIP: re-fills are free when you have the Starbucks app, and you're staying there to enjoy your drink!
